This program offers an in-depth exploration of Mathematics and Philosophy through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, cultivating qualities such as curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course culminates in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years focus on core program-specific modules alongside elective options, which may include interdisciplinary courses. Subsequent years emphasize advanced, research-driven education through specialized curriculum modules. The first two years combine mandatory subjects with a selection of optional modules, potentially from other faculties, while the later stages concentrate on tailored, research-oriented coursework.
