For half a century, we've built worldwide recognition for pioneering ideas and innovative approaches in museum studies. Doctoral candidates undertake self-directed research projects with support from an advisory team. The maximum enrollment duration is 4 years for full-time students or 7 years for distance learners. Typically, active research (encompassing experiments, lab work, fieldwork, and data gathering) spans 3-3.5 years full-time or 6-6.5 years for distance programs. After completing research, students may apply for a 12-month writing period. The combined research and writing phases cannot surpass the total registration limit. Theses are generally capped at 80,000 words and must offer novel insights while meeting publication standards. Final degree conferral requires successful defense of the thesis in an oral examination.
