This intensive postgraduate program provides comprehensive training to develop expertise in cancer research and treatment. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of cancer biology mechanisms and learn to apply this understanding to assess risk factors, diagnostic approaches, and therapeutic interventions. The curriculum begins with three months of rigorous coursework, including lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions, followed by specialized instruction from leading researchers in cancer therapeutics and prevention. A significant portion of the program involves a five-to-six month research project, allowing you to deeply investigate one of the department's priority research areas. Throughout the course, you'll enhance your ability to evaluate scientific literature, interpret research findings, and effectively communicate complex biomedical concepts.

Qualification Requirements

Students need to have 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant bioscience subject such as biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology etc. We also welcome applicants with significant relevant industrial or professional experience, and medically qualified applicants with a strong background in molecular biology and/or cell biology. Students need to have: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent; TOEFL iBT - 90.
