This four-year MBiolSci program in Medical Biosciences (Microbiology) provides comprehensive knowledge about the diversity, classification, structure, and physiology of disease-causing microorganisms in humans, including major pathogenic infections. You'll explore how these pathogens invade the human body, examine the dual role of microbes in both maintaining health and causing illness, and study infection prevention, treatment, and cure methods. The initial three years mirror the Medical Microbiology BSc curriculum, with opportunities for an Industrial Placement or Study Abroad year between the second and third years.
