The fields of law and criminology are fundamentally interconnected. This program provides comprehensive legal training alongside criminological insights, examining why certain behaviors are criminalized, theories of punishment, the characteristics of crime, and strategies for its prevention and control. As a joint honors course, over half your studies will focus on core legal subjects with additional law electives, complemented by criminology modules. Graduates are equipped for diverse roles in criminal justice, whether practicing law or serving in public sector positions related to prosecution, defense, rehabilitation, or legal reform. You'll gain unique interdisciplinary perspectives by learning from specialists in both law and criminology. The curriculum develops your capacity for legal and scholarly analysis, while fostering understanding of social policy and justice principles that shape legal frameworks and criminal justice processes. Through modules from Leicester Law School and the School of Criminology, you'll investigate criminal behavior's manifestations, prevalence, origins, and societal management, while fulfilling LLB degree requirements. The program additionally analyzes the underlying factors influencing legislation creation, violations, and enforcement mechanisms.
