The legal profession offers numerous career avenues to explore. This program is designed for those who wish to practice law or pursue legal careers in Canada after completing an LLB degree from England and Wales. You'll delve into fundamental topics such as contract and criminal law, take specialized Canadian Law courses, and have the flexibility to focus on subjects that interest you most, whether it's human rights or healthcare legislation - all guided by specialists in these disciplines. Instruction follows two primary formats: large-group lectures and intimate tutorial sessions. Expect two weekly lectures per course along with biweekly tutorials, totaling around 12 hours of direct instruction each week.

Qualification Requirements

No LSAT nor LNAT required - Unlike some universities, at Leicester we do not require applicants to have completed the Law School Admissions Test and the UK equivalent, the Law National Aptitude Test. We are not convinced the scores provide any information that we cannot get from your exam grades, personal statement and school reference.

At least 80% average on grades achieved in Grade 12, for school leavers from Canada (other than Quebec). Your top five or top six grades (depending on province) are used to calculate the average.
At least 80% overall on the Diplme dEtudes Collgiales (DEC), for school leavers from Quebec. English Language requirement also applies.
A-levels: AAB. General Studies accepted
EPQ with A-levels: ABB + EPQ at grade B
GCSE: English language at Grade C/4 or above
Access to HE Diploma: Pass relevant diploma with 45 credits at Level 3, including 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit
International Baccalaureate: Pass diploma with 33 points. Plus grade 4 in SL English if not held at GCSE.
BTEC Nationals: D*D*D with a strong GCSE background
