This program provides comprehensive education in both law and political science. You'll cultivate critical thinking, reflection, and analytical abilities that are fundamental to both fields. While highlighting their interconnected aspects, you'll also examine the distinctions between these disciplines and their respective methodologies. The curriculum fosters an understanding of legal systems within their broader societal and governmental frameworks.

At Essex, we go beyond traditional legal education. We inspire students to champion justice while providing the tools and expertise to drive meaningful change, regardless of their chosen profession.
From day one, we encourage strategic thinking about career development. During your first two years, alongside core legal studies, you'll complete career-focused modules to assess your strengths, align with employer expectations, and build professional competencies.
Our annual law fair connects students with legal firms and training providers. Alumni have established careers not only in law but across diverse sectors including finance, public service, education, social work, and law enforcement.
