Our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Foundation Year programs are designed for aspiring students who want to pursue STEM disciplines like physics but lack conventional qualifications. These courses operate on the University of Leicester campus alongside standard degree programs, where you'll learn with peers who narrowly missed entry to similar courses. The initial foundation year (year 0) prepares you to advance directly into year 1 of our BSc or MPhys Physics degrees upon successful completion. Our interdisciplinary faculty delivers the program, which focuses heavily on cultivating crucial professional and personal competencies for academic and career success. As a foundation year student, you'll fully integrate into university life—participating in student organizations, accessing campus facilities, residing in university housing, and utilizing support services, all while receiving guidance from a dedicated personal tutor.
