Pursuing a research degree in the Faculty of Biological Sciences allows you to cultivate expertise as an autonomous investigator in your selected discipline. Guided by your principal supervisor and additional co-supervisors, you'll conduct pioneering studies on specific biological challenges while joining an extensive research network employing cross-disciplinary methods to address contemporary scientific inquiries. During your doctoral studies, you'll not only enhance your specialized research capabilities but also acquire new competencies through structured training initiatives, seminar participation, and academic conferences.

Leeds researchers are working to create advanced implantable technologies for tissue regeneration and pioneer breakthrough treatments to restore mobility in cardiac patients. Our tissue engineering investigations concentrate on designing biological frameworks and therapeutic instruments to repair injured or affected bodily systems.
