Our Doctor of Philosophy program serves as the primary research-focused degree. To earn a PhD, candidates must produce a substantial thesis (either 300 pages or 100,000 words) that demonstrates original discoveries, interpretations, and communication of new knowledge. This work must meet publication standards in reputable international and national peer-reviewed journals, representing what an diligent student could achieve within three to four years of full-time study (or five to seven years for part-time or split-site arrangements). Examiners additionally verify the candidate's comprehensive understanding of their research field. Our interdisciplinary approach combines strengths from various institutes, centers, and research groups to address pressing global issues through focused investigation.
