A significant portion of our research focuses on comprehending, forecasting, and addressing the numerous transformations occurring across our planet. We maintain established initiatives that examine historical interactions between the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, land surfaces, and oceans, while also tracking their present conditions and projecting future developments. Leveraging this scientific groundwork, we pursue cross-disciplinary studies aimed at alleviating challenges stemming from climate change, environmental risks, social disparities, and sustainability concerns.
Our Global Change research initiatives frequently incorporate field studies, satellite observations, lab experiments, theoretical frameworks, computational modeling, and collaboration with key stakeholders. These investigations span the entire globe, encompassing all seven continents, from polar regions to tropical zones, and from Earth's core to the upper atmospheric layers.
