You will conduct a research program in a specific field with guidance from a primary supervisor and potentially additional co-supervisors. Enhancing surface coatings to reduce friction boosts the dependability of mechanical parts, yielding advantages across numerous aspects of daily life. Our Surface Engineering research delivers advancements across multiple industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, and farming sectors. The cutting-edge multifunctional platform serves as the core of our Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) and Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition (PVED) surface engineering operations. We aim to use this equipment to pioneer developments in hybrid functional surface technology and offer industries an experimental space to test novel approaches for their existing surface functionality issues.

Qualification Requirements

You must have achieved a bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons), or equivalent, or a good performance in a Masters level course in a relevant subject. We also recognise relevant industrial and academic experience. IELTS band score 6.0 - with not less than 5.5 in any skill area or Internet based TOEFL 80 (with not less than 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 19 in writing).
