Chemical engineering studies combined with fundamental science hold significant promise for delivering crucial insights and groundbreaking technological advancements to tackle tomorrow's challenges. For this purpose, we actively partner with diverse academic and industrial research teams, participating in initiatives like the Sargent Centre for Process Systems Engineering, UCL CoMPLEX, and the UCL Materials Chemistry Centre. Research stands as a central focus within our department, spanning multiple scales from molecular interactions to complex system dynamics. Our efforts are structured around five specialized research teams: Catalysis & Reaction Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, Molecular & Engineering Thermodynamics, Multiphase Systems, and Product & Process Systems Engineering, targeting key challenges in three priority domains: Energy & CO2 reduction, Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing, and Health & Environmental solutions.
