The Cardiovascular research unit operates within the broader Cardiovascular and Sport and Exercise Sciences division. Our investigations, organized around six thematic areas, concentrate on cardiac physiology in both normal and pathological states, with parallel studies in skeletal muscle biology. Employing techniques ranging from molecular analysis to whole-organ physiology, supplemented by computational modeling across multiple scales, we conduct internationally recognized research with clinical applications.
