The Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Research Group focuses on developing solutions for repairing, regenerating, or replacing skeletal tissues. Our primary research areas include bone, cartilage, teeth, and composite tissues, though we explore other areas as well. Our work spans multiple research directions: creating and analyzing biomaterials (including conventional dental materials and tissue engineering scaffolds), studying how biomaterials interact with cells through laboratory and animal studies, evaluating various stem cell types and their reactions to environmental factors like growth factors and mechanical forces, investigating aging at the molecular level, and developing non-viral gene therapy approaches for bone and cartilage regeneration.
