Future advancements will bring less invasive procedures, smarter systems, flexible designs, and cost-effective solutions that will transform surgical and endoscopic practices. The University of Leeds is at the forefront of robotic endoscopy and surgery innovation, tackling worldwide healthcare challenges. Our approach combines the university's diverse research ecosystem, state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, dynamic partnerships with leading medical institutions, and close ties with industry leaders. Key focus areas in our robotic surgery research include (1) Life-Preserving Capsule Robots, (2) Smart and Cost-Effective Surgical Tools, (3) Low-Impact Robotic Procedures, and (4) Advanced Training Simulators.
