This one-year program focuses entirely on independent research, where you'll conduct a project and document your findings in a thesis. Like a PhD, you'll work under the guidance of a supervisor specializing in your selected discipline. The MSc by Research enhances both theoretical and practical abilities, serving as an ideal pathway if you want to delve deeper into your subject without committing to a doctoral program at this stage. Many graduates progress to PhD studies or industry roles.

Proteins drive countless biological processes, serving as fundamental components of life. Proteostasis research examines protein lifecycles: their synthesis, folding, breakdown, and the diseases that arise when these mechanisms fail. Molecular structures and their interactions form the basis of biological activity, making structural biology essential for modern scientific breakthroughs. Our work focuses on determining the architectures of biomolecules like proteins, DNA, carbohydrates, and lipids, along with their assembled complexes. This field also investigates molecular dynamics, integrating concepts from molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, computational modeling, and simulation.
