This program enables you to conduct an in-depth research project in a specialized area within UCL's Division of Biosciences. To accommodate the wide range of available topics, the degree is organized into twelve subject streams, each supervised by a dedicated tutor. Serving as a pathway to advanced research in academic or industrial settings, students develop expertise in their chosen field through the primary research project while acquiring foundational skills in research planning and scientific communication (written, oral, and visual). Critical engagement with primary scientific literature and exposure to the interdisciplinary, collaborative nature of bioscience research are integral components.
