This year-long program focuses exclusively on independent research, culminating in a thesis based on your findings. Like a PhD, you'll work with a supervisor specializing in your chosen discipline. The MSc by Research enhances both academic and practical abilities, serving as an ideal pathway for those wanting to delve deeper into their field without committing to doctoral studies. Graduates frequently progress to PhD programs or industry positions.

Our investigations examine eukaryotic cytoskeletal architecture, operations, and movements, along with protein translocation through organelle and cellular membranes. The cell biology research focuses on uncovering the fundamental mechanisms governing healthy cellular activities and their pathological alterations. Specifically, we study membrane systems, organelle functions, cytoskeletal elements, and critical processes like protein folding, degradation pathways, stress responses, genetic regulation, and protein trafficking in both normal and diseased states. These investigations employ diverse model systems including cultured mammalian cells, plants, nematodes, and Drosophila.
