The School of Music's MA by Research program provides an opportunity for extended independent study at the Master's level, with personalized one-on-one guidance tailored to your project's needs. You'll complete a 30,000-word thesis on a topic of your choosing.

We employ various analytical methods, from theoretical critiques to practical applications, examining music's role across historical, artistic, technological, popular culture, and interdisciplinary frameworks.
