This postgraduate research program can be completed in one year for full-time students or two years for part-time students. Under the supervision of an academic advisor, you'll focus entirely on research without any taught components, with assessment based solely on your thesis. The program requires independent analysis of primary and secondary sources, culminating in a 30,000-word dissertation submitted upon completion.
The Global History department brings together faculty and graduate students researching worldwide historical connections, developments, and phenomena. Our interdisciplinary research community includes specialists in regional studies, transnational comparisons, and thematic investigations, with expertise spanning Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East, and various Asian regions. Research areas encompass border studies, decolonization, diaspora movements, migration patterns, and examinations of race, ethnicity, gender, and class dynamics.
