This program combines our academic dedication and specialized knowledge to help comprehend and formulate solutions for today's most urgent global political economy issues. Alongside establishing a solid foundation in core theories and concepts of international political economy, you'll examine influential global economic institutions like the World Bank and IMF, as well as the corporations, industries, and markets that contribute to worldwide conflicts, instabilities, crises, and challenges. The initial term covers essential political economy concepts and analytical frameworks. During the second term, you'll investigate connections between sectors, markets, and businesses with issues like food and health insecurity, job instability, poverty, environmental degradation, and climate change.
The curriculum emphasizes how governance policies and their effects manifest in daily life, enabling you to evaluate and contrast different approaches to change by policymakers and communities. Beyond theoretical knowledge, you'll acquire diverse professional competencies, including expertise in development-focused project planning and management, plus the ability to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data.
