At Leeds, you can pursue history alongside one of eight language options. This four-year program covers diverse historical eras, spanning from the decline of the Roman Empire to today's postcolonial, globalized society. Through intensive language training, you'll develop proficiency for your compulsory year overseas, where you'll immerse yourself in the culture and history of your selected language region.

Elective courses allow you to refine translation abilities or business language competence while selecting from extensive history offerings. You'll examine the social and cultural contexts of nations where your chosen language is used. For your final project, you may focus on either historical research or language studies.
