Our Bulgarian and Italian program provides extensive opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from a diverse array of modules covering literature, linguistic studies, history, sociology, philosophy, art, cinema, and other cultural aspects tied to their chosen language(s).
During the first, second, and final years, participants will enroll in language courses for their selected tongues alongside related cultural studies. They may also explore interdisciplinary modules from SELCS and SSEES, examining literature, film, linguistics, and history through multiple lenses.
The third year involves international study, divided between two nations where the target languages are spoken. All students attain equivalent language proficiency, whether beginning as novices or with prior experience in the language.
