Our Astrophysics MPhys (Hons) program lets you investigate the fundamental nature of the cosmos. You'll acquire expertise in diverse scientific techniques while discovering how physical principles govern celestial bodies and cosmic structures.

You'll have access to cutting-edge facilities for hands-on astronomical data analysis, interpretation, and modeling, building both practical skills and theoretical understanding. The program includes an optional international year, where you can study at a partner university or participate in a recognized research initiative. We maintain partnerships with global leaders in astrophysics research, such as NASA and the Southern African Large Telescope.

UCAS: 128 points at A2 including a minimum of AB in Physics and Math - one must be grade A BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM and accepted only alongside a minimum of AB in A2 level Physics and Math - one must be grade A International Baccalaureate Diploma: 128 points from Higher Level subjects including Higher Level 5/6 Maths and Physics Pass Access course: 128 points including 15 level 3 credits at D in Maths and 15 level 3 credits at D in Physics GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent IELTS - 6.0 with no component below 5.5 , TOEFL IBT - 80, Reading 10, Listening 10, Speaking 17, Writing 19, Pearson Test of English - Academic 61 with minimum of 59 in each component
