You'll choose a specialization path that aligns with your interests or professional goals. Options include studying language systems, how we learn languages, cognitive processing of language, or linguistic evolution and variation. For text-focused linguistics, you'll examine language's persuasive power, its role in challenging norms and power structures, or its use as forensic evidence in legal contexts.
If you select the TESOL track (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), you'll take specialized modules preparing you to teach English both domestically and internationally.
