Our BA (Hons) in Applied Community and Social Care Studies equips you with essential knowledge and develops critical skills for leadership positions in community and social care services.
You can choose from diverse specialized modules tailored to your interests, including: political systems and policies; racial dynamics in society; investigating social disparities; relationship-based practice; child and youth protection; mental health services; addressing domestic violence; substance use in society; economic hardship and equity issues; criminal justice studies; among others. During the second year, you'll bridge theory with practice through a mandatory 'Structured Work Experience' component.
Our faculty consists of accomplished scholars whose research focuses on community and social care fields. Many instructors are former licensed social workers, while others bring firsthand experience from social services and community development roles.
Beyond improving career prospects, this program lays the academic foundation for advanced studies in areas like social work, public policy, education, and community leadership at postgraduate levels.
