Kent University focuses on examining the intricate, evolving connections between people and their surroundings, with special attention to how these relationships manifest spatially. A central theme is how humans adjust to their environment and cope with environmental transformations. Postgraduate studies in Human Geography explore diverse subjects, fundamentally centered on the dynamic interplay between human societies and their habitats. This includes areas like social and cultural geography, urban and political geography, economic and development studies, plus environmental and landscape planning. The program offers one-year full-time or two-year part-time options, where students develop a thesis guided by one or two faculty advisors. Our active research community covers the full spectrum of Human Geography interests.
