We collaborate extensively with the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research and the Kent Law School, as well as the University's Institute for Cultural and Creative Industries, to deliver interdisciplinary PhD programs. We encourage PhD proposals specializing in areas such as political communications, travel journalism, conflict reporting, media ethics, legal frameworks in media, lifestyle journalism, electoral reporting, trust in media, and social media dynamics. Our research offerings include two distinct pathways. The MA by Research requires a 40,000-word dissertation completed over one year full-time or two years part-time. The PhD programs involve rigorous research and analysis, culminating in 75,000-word theses over three years full-time or five years part-time.
