Discover how to source, create, and distribute compelling stories across diverse media platforms, from print publications to digital and social channels, equipping yourself with the vital competencies needed to excel as a multimedia journalist.
Modern journalism demands proficiency in digital content creation and distribution, combined with fundamental reporting skills – this program develops both. You'll apply your learning in our newsroom facilities and across the city during intensive production days. Collaborate with peers to publish your work on Sheffield Wire, an active news platform with dedicated social media presence.

You'll implement your skills through multiple formats: crafting news articles, managing web content, mastering shorthand, overseeing social media, producing video content, and understanding media legislation – all while pursuing stories and meeting tight deadlines alongside your team.

Beyond essential reporting competencies valued by employers, you'll explore cutting-edge journalistic approaches that provide a competitive advantage when launching your career.

Our NCTJ-accredited program is widely recognized as among the UK's premier journalism courses. You'll engage with leading news organizations across global, national, and local levels through both classroom instruction and valuable work placements.

We continually evaluate our curriculum to ensure relevance and current industry standards. Module offerings may periodically change in response to academic research, funding adjustments, accreditation needs, stakeholder feedback, program reviews, or staffing considerations. Any modifications will be communicated transparently with appropriate notice, with measures taken to reduce potential impact on students.
