The Centre for American Studies offers team-based supervision across diverse areas of American Studies, aligned with our active research focus. We approach the American experience with critical analysis and thoughtful reflection, creating an excellent foundation for postgraduate research. While supporting broad American topics, we currently emphasize three specialized research clusters: the American West, US Environmental Issues, and Race, Ethnicity and Borders. Our graduates have pursued careers in media, publishing, and various industries across the UK, Europe, and the US, with many entering teaching professions or fields like marketing and public relations.
