Artificial intelligence (AI) and data science are transforming geospatial data analysis, fundamentally changing how we perceive and engage with our surroundings. Position yourself at the cutting edge of this groundbreaking discipline. In our modern, data-centric society, geospatial information holds immense value. AI is driving substantial progress by improving environmental tracking accuracy, advancing city development strategies, and streamlining resource allocation. The need for qualified professionals capable of leveraging AI's capabilities in geospatial analysis is greater than ever before. About this program Geospatial analysis is undergoing a dramatic evolution through the integration of data science and analytics. Instead of relying solely on human interpretation of Earth's imagery and data, AI systems are now automating processes beyond human capacity. Across the country, there's an acknowledged shortage of trained AI and data science professionals to fulfill industry demands. This program provides the essential competencies and industry knowledge to enter this rapidly expanding field. As a conversion course, no scientific background is required. The expertise you'll develop will help create a professional portfolio, opening doors to data science careers with highly desirable skills that significantly boost career prospects. The curriculum explores programming, statistical methods, machine learning, data representation, computer vision, along with the moral and legal considerations of data usage. This specialized geospatial track features custom modules on geo-information science basics, satellite data interpretation, and large-scale spatial-temporal data analysis. During the final term, students can select or develop a research project aligned with their academic history or professional aspirations. Some may have the chance to collaborate with industry partners on practical projects.
Applicants will require a 2:2 Undergraduate honours degree in any subject that includes a numerical component (i.e. statistical analysis, or formal mathematics, or programming in any given language), or equivalent industrial experience. This course requires academic IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each skill. TOEFL iBT: Overall 79-93 – At least - Reading 10, Listening 9, Speaking 17, Writing 19.
