The Data and Knowledge Management specialization enables students to explore focused topics related to data and knowledge processing techniques. The Managing Data component emphasizes database architecture, upkeep, and query handling for both structured and unstructured data systems. The Learning from Data segment delves into machine learning foundations, probabilistic models, optimization techniques, and their practical implementations. Meanwhile, the Advanced Web Technologies module offers comprehensive insights into emerging web technologies, including Semantic Web frameworks. Effective data and knowledge governance has become crucial not just for business success, but also for managing the enormous volumes of scientific information in our digital era. As we've moved into the information society and knowledge-based economy, data management now plays a pivotal role across all sectors. Consider, for instance, the massive quantities of genetic or healthcare records stored digitally, and how their proper administration can significantly impact communities.
