This TESOL program provides an in-depth exploration of teaching English to speakers of other languages, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience over three academic terms.
The curriculum begins with core principles, progresses to applied teaching techniques, and culminates with either an extensive research project or dissertation of your choice. Evaluation methods include various assignments, performance assessments, and your culminating thesis or project.
To establish a solid TESOL foundation, the program focuses on educator language proficiency, theories of language acquisition, and instructional methodologies, addressing grammar, pronunciation, lexicon, and discourse analysis.
Students will examine language acquisition frameworks from psychological, linguistic, and educational perspectives while studying both traditional and modern TESOL teaching methods. You'll innovatively implement these TESOL concepts in simulated classroom environments, designing instructional materials, delivering lessons, and critically analyzing your teaching practices.
