Our BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying offers the foundation for pursuing a career as a certified Quantity Surveyor. This program holds accreditation from both the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Designed to complement our Architecture BA(Hons) and programs in Architectural Technology and Construction Project Management, it fosters a comprehensive grasp of professional standards in the construction sector and collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams.
Modern quantity surveyors rely heavily on two key methodologies: Lean Construction and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Lean Construction aims to optimize project value while minimizing costs by refining design, construction, and building utilization processes. BIM complements this approach by equipping professionals with tools to oversee material and labor expenditures. Throughout this program, you'll examine both disciplines to learn how to maximize value for future clients. Additionally, the curriculum develops your ability to handle commercial and contractual elements of construction projects.
After joining the Quantity Surveying program, you have the flexibility to transfer to Construction Project Management or continue with Quantity Surveying (subject to tutor approval) at the conclusion of your first year should your career aspirations shift.
