This program provides comprehensive civil engineering knowledge while offering valuable industry exposure. You'll experience workplace culture, build professional networks, and develop graduate-level engineering skills.
Ideal for those undecided about their civil engineering specialization, this versatile course begins with foundational studies in structural engineering, water infrastructure, fluid mechanics, and geotechnical principles during the first two years, covering both analytical and design aspects.

Later stages focus on advanced water engineering topics including groundwater systems, fluid dynamics, flood management, sustainable drainage solutions, and water resource management, alongside your individual research initiative.

The third year features an intensive Integrated Design Project semester, challenging you to conceptualize large-scale urban renewal plans for an actual Sheffield location. This creative endeavor explores innovative design approaches and construction materials while developing sophisticated designs ranging from graceful bridges to eco-conscious high-rises or cutting-edge athletic facilities. The project delivers essential practical experience and insight into real-world professional challenges.
