This program is tailored for individuals residing in North East England, Yorkshire and the Humber region, Cheshire and Merseyside, North West England, Cumbria, or North Lincolnshire. Those living elsewhere should consult Health Education England to find their closest training provider.
Right from the beginning, you'll have opportunities to cultivate essential competencies, professional values, and self-assurance necessary for providing care to children, adolescents, and their families across diverse situations. This encompasses patients with sudden illnesses, chronic conditions, or those requiring health maintenance support. The program offers adaptable learning methods, primarily utilizing digital platforms while also including practical, experiential components. You'll visit the Huddersfield campus for no more than 20 days annually, allowing you to apply your knowledge in our simulated pediatric ward using medical mannequins, while also participating in occupational health workshops and compulsory training sessions.
Through clinical placements, you'll gain real-world experience applying your skills in various acute care environments near your residence, including pediatric units, emergency departments, and neonatal ICUs. Additional opportunities exist to collaborate with specialist nurses in community-based settings such as healthcare clinics, pediatric palliative care facilities, and both standard and specialized educational institutions.
