A Master's research degree from the University of Hertfordshire is a globally recognized qualification that demonstrates research excellence. Unlike taught MA/MSc programs with structured modules, a Master's by Research involves customized research and skill development planned with your supervisors, centered around your personal research proposal. This degree offers flexible study options, available either full-time (1 year) or part-time (2 years), across all Creative Arts disciplines supported by the School and where qualified supervisors are available. The School of Creative Arts boasts diverse expertise spanning historical/theoretical research and practice-led approaches, covering fields like fine/applied arts, film/media/TV studies, interior/architectural design, and music/music industry. Throughout your Master's by Research journey, you'll deepen your subject knowledge and hone independent research abilities. You'll work on a dedicated research project under the guidance of at least two academic supervisors, while also participating in tailored professional development workshops offered by the University's Doctoral College.
