Enroll in a vocational program that blends on-campus instruction with hands-on placement learning. Our approach combines lectures, seminars, and workshops to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application. You'll learn in an engaging environment featuring role-playing exercises, visual art creation, collaborative peer activities, and experiential group sessions. The program includes 96 days of guided placement experience, providing real-world practice in art therapy settings. This immersive training will shape you into a conscious, relationship-focused, and principled art therapist. Throughout the program, we'll motivate you to take an engaged approach to learning and creative expression. Artistic practice forms the core of this curriculum, offering ample chances to hone your technical abilities while reflecting on using personal artwork as therapeutic practice. Beyond coursework, you'll need to pursue your own therapeutic development through personal therapy sessions, fostering self-understanding and authentic expression techniques.
Upon earning your MA in Art Therapy, you'll qualify for professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This credential prepares you to work across diverse environments - including NHS facilities, social service agencies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions - with clients of all ages. The program also equips you with entrepreneurial skills to potentially launch community-based initiatives in healthcare, education, or business sectors.
