The LLM in International Human Rights Law provides a solid grounding for specializing in human rights while allowing you to study diverse topics within this field. You'll investigate current developments and critically assess perspectives from all sides of human rights discussions. The program includes two required courses: International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law. Note that Humanitarian Law is exclusively available to students enrolled in the International Human Rights Law track. Through the International Human Rights Law course, you'll develop a nuanced understanding of human rights legislation from comparative and cross-cultural viewpoints. This module explores theoretical and philosophical debates about human rights, evaluates international and regional protection systems, assesses the UN's effectiveness, and examines civil, political, social, economic, and cultural rights.
Alumni from this program pursue careers in government agencies, international institutions, NGOs, or advance into academia and research.
