Our BA in History and Philosophy allows you to explore two complementary disciplines that provide valuable perspectives on the world. Our inclusive History program covers diverse cultures and identities, with a particular emphasis on social history and ordinary people's experiences. The first-year curriculum examines key themes in modern history, including belief systems, medical practices, social movements, African history, and American developments from the founding era to contemporary politics. You'll learn from research-active faculty while developing critical thinking skills in both subjects - analyzing historical sources and philosophical arguments alike, forming your own well-reasoned perspectives on significant questions.
