The School of Engineering supports approximately 50 MPhil and PhD candidates across seven specialized research teams. Our work addresses critical global challenges, backed by annual research funding exceeding £1.6 million. Doctoral candidates benefit from continuous mentorship by leading academics throughout their studies. Typically, students begin as MPhil candidates before advancing to PhD status after successful first-year evaluation.
