The initial year of our four-year BA (Hons) Games Art with foundation year program provides a gateway into game studies. Focused on fostering creativity, it allows you to specialize in your chosen path. Core subjects involve basic game development using industry-standard tools and platforms. Our expert games faculty will support you in honing your abilities, equipping you for advanced degree work. The curriculum is designed to cultivate skills relevant to professional game development careers.
The foundation year serves as a transitional phase between secondary and higher education, prioritizing hands-on learning with tailored assistance to ready you for the rigorous academic challenges of degree-level study.
After successfully finishing the foundation year, you'll advance directly to the main degree program, concentrating on games art (with the option to switch to BSc (Hons) Games Design or BSc (Hons) Games Programming upon completion if desired). The program employs a highly practical methodology that mirrors real-world game industry workflows.
Collaboratively, we'll expand your knowledge of both artistic and technical aspects of game art. Our studio-focused curriculum will take you from fundamental digital art principles through advanced techniques including character/environment modeling, texturing, lighting, level design, concept art, and cutting-edge game art technologies.
