The curriculum emphasizes Gaelic Scotland, Scotland's role within the British Isles and Europe, and urban Scottish development. Students may also utilize the Baillie Collection of printed medieval and modern historical sources from Scotland, Ireland, and England. The city hosts one of the world's largest concentrations of Scottish history scholars, who collaborate through the Centre for Scottish and Celtic Studies with experts in related fields including Archaeology, Scottish Literature, Celtic & Gaelic, and Theology and Religious Studies.
