In today's world, data plays an increasingly vital role, but skilled professionals who can derive insights and value from intricate datasets remain in short supply. This Master's program offers comprehensive training in cutting-edge techniques for data analysis, covering both statistical modeling and computational approaches. You'll acquire hands-on experience through multiple data-centric projects, with no prior background in Statistics or Computer Science necessary.
Our specialized knowledge encompasses diverse areas such as: biostatistics and statistical genetics, environmental statistics, methodological statistics, statistical modeling, and pedagogical research in statistics education. The University of Glasgow's Statistics Group is a prominent, globally recognized research hub. We maintain strong collaborations with The Data Lab, a world-class center for data science innovation and research. Funded by an £11.3 million investment from the Scottish Funding Council, The Data Lab fosters collaboration between industry, government, and academic researchers to advance data science capabilities. Its primary goal is to create substantial economic, societal, and scientific benefits from data. Students will gain access to numerous educational and professional networking opportunities that bridge the gap between top organizations seeking analytics expertise and aspiring professionals pursuing careers in this dynamic field.
