We seek to deepen our comprehension of how cardiovascular and metabolic disorders impact individuals within our clinical specialties (including diabetes, kidney disease, and endocrine disorders), and how these effects extend to broader populations - particularly among different ethnic groups, genders, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Our studies focus on unraveling the connections between obesity, sedentary lifestyles, and cardiovascular/metabolic conditions, aiming to create improved prevention methods and treatments for obesity while reducing its related health consequences. This understanding helps us innovate cardiovascular treatments and optimize current therapies. Our team's diverse skills encompass molecular biology, biomarker analysis, clinical studies, epidemiological research, therapeutic trials, and cardiovascular outcome evaluation.
We're at the forefront of creating specialized biological databases integrated with anonymized NHS Scotland health records. Within our kidney research program, we're working to minimize risks and enhance care for those with chronic kidney disease.
