Social and public policy examines approaches to tackling worldwide and community issues like poverty, inequality, housing, healthcare, technology, and environmental sustainability. This program integrates concepts from political science, sociology, and economics to analyze how governments develop strategies to meet citizens' requirements, social welfare, and quality of life.
Glasgow's Social & Public Policy faculty received the distinguished Social Policy Association/Policy Press Outstanding Teaching Award 2020, acknowledging the university's exceptional and creative social policy education in the UK (SPA 2020). Glasgow's Social Policy program tied for first place in UK student satisfaction according to the NSS 2019. Students gain practical experience through placements with nonprofit or government organizations.
