This program is perfect for students eager to explore the application of numerical data in political contexts. It offers hands-on training in practical and analytical abilities, boosting your career opportunities and establishing a solid foundation for advanced academic pursuits. No previous experience with statistical methods is necessary.
Approximately two-thirds of your coursework will mirror the single honors Politics and International Relations curriculum. You'll examine the political systems of various nations and governments, along with the interactions between countries, communities, and citizens. You'll gain exposure to diverse perspectives and analytical approaches, learning how to implement and assess them effectively.
The remaining portion focuses on cross-disciplinary instruction in quantitative methodologies. During the first year of the quantitative track, we explore how numerical data shapes persuasive narratives in media and social studies. We investigate concepts like segregation, including its measurement and visualization techniques.
The second year features interactive sessions in social statistics and applied data interpretation, sharpening your numerical and analytical capabilities. These skills will prepare you to conduct independent research in quantitative social science during your third year.
In the final year, we provide instruction in sophisticated quantitative techniques suitable for graduate-level research, while further deepening your political expertise and specialized knowledge.
