The Portuguese program focuses on exploring the languages, literatures, and cultures across Portuguese-speaking regions, including Brazil and Portugal. At Glasgow, students engage in small-group learning with native Portuguese and Brazilian instructors. The program maintains strong ties with the Instituto Camões and provides complete access to the Language Resources Center, equipped with top-quality digital, audiovisual, and print materials.
The School of Modern Languages & Cultures provides degree options in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Students can pursue French, German, Italian, or Spanish as standalone subjects or combine them with other disciplines. Portuguese and Russian are exclusively offered as joint degrees, requiring pairing with another academic field.
