This program offers an in-depth exploration of Comparative Literature and Italian through research-focused studies, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and scholarly rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature core program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The subsequent years focus on advanced, research-driven coursework tailored to the program's specialized curriculum. The first two years combine mandatory program modules with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while the later years deliver specialized, research-oriented instruction aligned with the program's academic objectives.
